Jason's Princess by Elise Manion

- Goodreads Synopsis -
Five years after her parents' tragic death, Julie Armstrong is still managing to raise her seventeen year old brother, Charlie. Barely making ends meet, there's no time to seek out her Prince Charming, even if one exists. This is the real world, after all, and the only eligible men in her town resemble toads with ink.

Jason King might have ink, but he's definitely no toad, even if Julie thinks he's one. He wants nothing more than to ride in on his dark horse and protect Julie and her young brother. He's sat on the sidelines way too long, keeping them safe.

But when trouble finds its way back home, Julie must rely on the one man whom she's held responsible for all her troubles for the past five years. Will she ever find her Prince?

The moment I finished Jarod's Heart by Elise Manion I knew that I was a huge fan and needed more! I patiently waited for the release of Jason's Princess and when it arrived, it definitely did not disappoint! I was so impressed. This book was everything I expected and more.

"When your eyes met mine, my heart beat so hard, I thought it was going to break a rib or two. You were the prettiest thing I had ever seen."

The King Brother novels blow my mind! They only get better and better. I am a sucker for a romance story and on top of that, Elise Manion throws in mystery and crime! Romance and crime are two of my favorite things so I find myself wondering how these books can get any better.. BUT THEY DO!  Manion's characters are phenomenal and so easy to relate to. I absolutely love each and every character in this series! Jason's Princess swept me off my feet and took me into some type of book dream land. The world did not matter and who ever tried to talk to me was irrelevant up until the moment I finished this book. Manion's words flowed so beautifully through my mind.

"Jason couldn't believe how one woman could be so beautiful just by smiling. If he hadn't loved her before, he was definitely falling hard now."

At the mention of Josh, I have to talk about Jason! Jason King is my new book boyfriend and I am head over heals for this character. In Jason's Princess, Jason falls for a girl named Julie. It was love at first sight and she was all he wanted, but Julie was in a relationship. Julie thought Jason did not notice her much and Jason thought the same about Julie. This all changed when Julie and her brother Charlie began being followed. Who is targeting them? Who could ever want to hurt them? The King brothers stand together to protect Julie and Charlie and in the process discover some seriously mind blowing information about Julie and her family. Julie is in extreme danger and has been for a while. I didn't know what to think when Manion threw this bomb at me. I still can't believe how twisted and crazy the story got! Jason King caring so much about Julie and Charlie is what melted my heart! Jason would do anything to keep Julie safe and he won me over real quick. Jason and his family are a dream. Jason's mom has such a kind soul and is the nicest person I have ever read about in a book.

I easily found myself wishing I was Julie! Julie is so very lucky to have such caring friends, family, and JASON! Me wanting to be Julie, wanting to be in the story, means that Manion's writing is so real and so vivid that I felt like I was in the book.. I felt like I was Julie at times. I lost myself in this book. Manion really has a way with her words! Her book brought me out of a reading slump that I have been in for about 3 weeks. The moment I read the first page of this book I was hooked. Once I was finished it took me forever to recover. I did not want to start reading another book because that would mean admitting that the King brother's story was over.

Jason's Princess was full of love, friendship, death, mystery, and heart break. This book has it all and I am still recovering from a Jason's Princess hangover. I need more of the King brothers in my life and if you are reading this, then I think you need some King brothers in your life as well! This is a book that needs to be added to your reading list! You will not regret it. I promise.
