Resistance On Ice by S.R. Grey

- Goodreads Synopsis -
Hockey star Nolan Solvenson is nothing short of skilled perfection, both on and off the ice. Or so everyone thinks. His teammates are constantly hitting him up for advice, but really, when it comes to his own life, Nolan can't seem to make the right moves anymore.

Blame it all on Lainey Shelburne, a woman he wants but is determined to keep at arm’s length. That’s why, after a few sexy encounters, he unceremoniously blows her off.

When they’re reunited, facing off against the fiery cocktail waitress becomes the challenge of his life. Lainey is furious with him for dumping her and wants nothing more than to kick him in the junk. But Nolan—typical man—is only interested in getting Lainey back in his bed.

That plan is shot all to hell when they reach a shaky truce and Lainey drops the bomb that all she’s looking for now is a "just friends" relationship with Nolan.

Take that, Mr. Hot Right Winger!

Suddenly, the "know-it-all" athlete is skating on thin ice as he tries to hide his burgeoning feelings from the one woman who has the ability to thaw his heart. But is Lainey willing to try a relationship with him again? Can Nolan resist the urge to walk away?

Resistance on Ice is a fun standalone novel and the second installment in the bestselling Boys of Winter hockey romance series.

OMG I have no idea what to even write right now! I am at a loss of words for how intense and hot this book was! I am a sucker for a steamy romance story but you throw in some hockey and I am HOOKED!

Resistance On Ice is the second book in the Boys of Winter series. Yes, this book is a part of a series but it can also be read as a standalone. In this book we are introduced to Nolan, a hockey player for the Las Vegas Wolves, and Lainey, a young woman he is very fond of! Nolan and Lainey have so much keeping them apart but they have so much more keeping them together. This book will sweep you up and entangle you in the lives of these two and their friends. Once I picked up this book.. I could not put it down! I stayed up reading until way past my bedtime! I love Nolan and Lainey and I just could not end their story until it was over.

I know I have said it before and I will say it a million times.. S.R. Grey is an amazing writer and her books just get better and better! She wrote this book in both Lainey's and Nolan's point of view, which I love. I love being able to get inside multiple characters heads. It really helps the reader understand the characters more and gives them special insight on the story and what is happening.

Nolan is 100% book boyfriend material! The way he tries to win over Lainey is so romantic. He really is her knight in shining armor! He is always there when Lainey needs him and the two just simply belong together! You guys are not going to want to miss this romance! You definitely have to check out this book if you are curious about the two and their relationship. S.R. Grey will not let you guys down, I promise! Her books never disappoint! Her writing style is so addicting and you will be a forever fan once you pick up one of her books! Her writing is so descriptive and vivid but also funny and lovable. Grey had me laughing one second and crying another!

Besides the romance, and the fact that this series was written by one of my favorite authors, I absolutely love the fact that it is written around hockey! I LOVE HOCKEY! I have never read any other books like this before!

No Vain Loss by M.C. Frank

- Goodreads Synopsis -
She A soldier is summoned to the North Pole, days before the year changes, told to fix the great Clock for a celebration. He has no idea what to do.
A girl, hunted for the crime of being born, almost dies out on the ice. She is rescued by the last polar bear left alive.
A library waits for them both, a library built over a span of a hundred years, forgotten in the basement of an ice shack.
The world hasn't known hunger or sickness in hundreds of years. It has also forgotten love and beauty.
This is the One World.
The year is 2524.

Inspired by the short stories of Ray Bradbury, this futuristic young adult novel in three parts is set in a world where Christmas -among other things- is obsolete and a Clock is what keeps the fragile balance of peace.

Written in three parts, this is the breathtaking story of how two unlikely people change the world, and each other, one book at a time.

In No Vain Loss, the world is on the brink of the greatest war humanity has ever known. Lives will be lost. New truths will be revealed.

"He was prepared to lose everything, his own life even; everything except that. Except her."

No Vain Loss is the third and final book in the No Ordinary Star series. Be aware that these books are not meant to be read out of order. M.C. Franks throws a truly incredible story line at us and it just can not be read out of order. Each book picks up exactly where the last book ends, which is nice! You guys can find my reviews for books one and two in the series by clicking the reviews tab above!

I feel like it has been a while since I was last in the year 2524 with Felix and Astra! It is truly something special being able to be back with them and seeing them stand up for something they feel so strongly about. It took me a few minutes to remember all the details regarding family, and who everyone was but shortly after starting book 3, everything just came rushing back to me.

M.C Frank wrote another amazing book! Her books just keep getting better and better! I am amazed at how she gives her characters so much back story and really brings them to life. The way her characters are all connected and how much each one cares for one another is incredible. You not only get to read about how the characters feel, but you get to feel it for yourself as well. Frank allows her readers to feel her characters emotions and that is how you know you are reading a well written book. I absolutely adore every character in this book! well, maybe not every character... but most!

The main characters are left dealing with a huge problem and planet earth is in their hands! This book is full of action and I can honestly say it is the most action out of the whole series. Blood is lost, tears are shed, and so much more! I wish I could tell you guys in more details how intense this final book is but I can't! I can not give anything away and I know you will appreciate it in the end! Frank brings her story to a close in a perfect way! All her crazy twists and mind blowing scenes finally all make sense and she leaves the reader with a sense of peace. The reader is not left wondering what will happen next and sometimes I need that from a book! I love cliffhangers but I do love a good solid ending too.

"He hadn't counted on what kissing does to your brain: it turns it into mush, apparently. Maybe that's why it's illegal."

Frank has a way of creating this world that just kind of consumes your soul. Your soul belongs to this world until you are done reading every single word. It is then, and only then, that the book and her words set you free! I can honestly say that I have read every single one of her books in one sitting. I get so swept up into her books that I can not stop. I do not read books as fast as I used to but I truly do get so excited every time Frank releases a new book! I can not wait to see what she comes up with next. I truly recommend any and all of her books!

The Tower by Nicole Campbell

- Goodreads Synopsis -
"On our sixteenth birthdays, our kind is gifted with awesome powers. Except no, not really because this isn’t Narnia, or Hogwarts, or whatever other mythical realm where witches supposedly live. This is Elizabethtown, Illinois, and much to the chagrin of the local chapter of Susie-Homemakers, we live here."

All witches understand that the universe is a scary sort of powerful on a good day. On a bad day? Well, that’s when The Tower card shows its face during a reading. As summer draws to a close before the beginning of junior year, Rowyn Black is tired of seeing that card stare up at her from the table. Rowyn, Reed, and Rosalyn have made it through just about every dramatic storm their sarcasm could weather during their seventeen year friendship, and it would be nice to have a quiet semester. Rowyn hopes that the only thing The Tower foretells is the frightening sight of the school parking lot come the first day- full of more jacked-up trucks and cut off shorts than a Luke Bryan video. True to its nature, however, the universe doesn’t care much for hopes and wishes, and when the promise of The Tower comes crashing down, they might fall right along with it.

"I felt the skin-crawling sensation brought on by his energy before I saw him."

This is not the first book I have read by Nicole Campbell! She wrote a super fun, romantic series called The Gem City Series! So I was super excited to have the opportunity to read The Tower! Nicole Campbell is such a great writer and really knows how to drown the reader in the worlds she creates! In The Tower we are taken to a town called Elizabethtown in Illinois. Here we meet a set of 3 friends: Rowyn, Reed, and Rose! These three friends are not your ordinary friends! They are a group of witches!!!

The Tower is nothing like your average witch story! Campbell created the most normal teenage witches I have ever seen! The three friends have boy drama, best friend drama, betrayals, love, tragedy, and so much more! There is never a dull moment in this book! There really is something happening at all times! I could not put this book down because there was never a good time to. How can one find time to put the story on hold when Reed is in love with one of his best friends! But hey, you guys did not hear that from me! I am usually not one for spoilers! That news is nothing compared to Rowyn not being able to read Rose's and Jared's cards. Rowyn is really good at what she does.. so why is nothing showing up? Rowyn doesn't understand. Too bad Rowyn could not see what was about to happen. The three friends are about to be faced with one of the hardest obstacles life can throw at you! Will they ever be the same?

"Maybe he'll forget about the kiss, and we can just go back to being friends. Friends who ignore that there is anything between them and one makes the other miserable."

Nicole Campbell is such an awesome writer! I can say that over and over and over and mean it every time. I love that she wrote The Tower in multiple points of view! I really enjoy this in a book, because it really allows the reader to get a better idea of what each of the characters are thinking and experiencing. The reader gets a better understanding of the story this way as well! I am a HUGE fan of her characters! I fell in love with the characters right away and you guys will too! They are very complex and easy to relate to! What more could a reader want?

You guys definitely need to add this book to your TBR lists!

Spinning Time by D.F. Jones

- Goodreads Synopsis -
Spinning Time, a time travel romance by D. F. Jones

1948, Burkett Falls
Southern debutante, Julia Boatwright has everything a twenty-one-year-old desires, a wealthy family, close friends, and a handsome fiancĂ© until she plunges into the deep pools of Burkett Falls trapped in a natural time portal that propels her seventy years into the future.

Will Julia find a way home before it's too late?

"If you love time travel romance, drama, and thriller suspense novels, this book is a must read!"

"Life was too perfect. Julia thought - the calm before the storm - and hated when she was right."

I am a huge fan of D.F. Jones! This is the fourth book I have read by her and her books just keep getting better and better! If you haven't already, you guys need to go check out her Ditch Lane Diaries series! SUCH AN AWESOME SERIES! Jones is an awesome writer and I can't get enough of her writing and creativity.

I can't even put into words how much I enjoyed this book! I am a big fan of romance but I have not read too many time travel books. I feel like you have to be a spectacular writer to pull of a book about time travel. The very few time travel books I have read in the past were really confusing. I could never tell the past from the present or the future! Spinning time was very well written and Jones did a fantastic job allowing her readers to understand what year the characters were in! This book flowed very nicely and there was never any confusion with the past, present, and future!

"Julia knew the moment Phillip's lips connected with hers that he was different than the rest. Time seemed to suspend. The mingling of his soft lips brushing against hers made her heart flutter."

Jones takes us into a world where Alien Time Travel exists! The Alien Time Travel and Research Agency is a very complex agency and each spinner/tracker has a very distinct set of rules to follow. One day, a young woman named Julia was swimming with her fiance, when she finds herself in a portal. Julia ends up going  70 years into the future. Something about Julia going through this portal disturbs the Alien Time Travel and Research Agency. Spinners and trackers all now have distinct rules revolving around Julia and her unborn son. But what happens when they meet Julia? Some of these trackers/spinners would rather help Julia! What happens when they no longer want to listen to their commander anymore? How does Julia feel being in the future? Will Julia ever get back to the right time zone? Will she ever see her fiance again?

Jones creates such a beautiful, crazy world. Her words just jumped off the page creating vivid pictures on the walls of my room. I felt like I was there with Julia and all the other awesome characters throughout this book! Jones really has a way with words and I have no idea how she comes up with the stories and characters that she does! Her books are just so outstanding! I could read her stores all day, every day.

Jones gives us some really great characters in Spinning Time! You will meet Julia and her family, Phillip, Monica, Charlie, Ruben, and Andy! I can promise you guys that you will fall in love with them just as I did! They really are a great group of characters and most are all very caring and would do anything to protect one another. I love a good book with a great set of characters! The characters are what allows the reader to put him or herself into the story and relate to it. I felt like I was part of the group fighting Monica and trying to get Julia back home! The last few pages of this book even had me crying! They were happy tears of course, but I was so connected to the characters that the end had me all emotional.

Nothing about D.F. Jones' books are boring or slow! There is always something going on. Her books are fast paced and exciting! I really recommend her books to you guys! Add them to your TBR!

Terrence by Alice Rachel

- Goodreads Synopsis -
Bullying is nothing new to Terrence Young. The teasing and harassment are constant. His family is less than understanding as well. To them, Terrence chose to be gay and complicate their lives. Their little rejections sting and cut him deeply.

But when the Deviance Act is passed, Terrence's life takes a turn for the worse overnight. Under the new law, a mere look, a simple touch, or a small kiss in public could mean death. Terrence attempts to hide his orientation to survive. That is until a gang attacks him in a bar and Chase Martinez interferes.

Chase is gorgeous, kind-hearted, and he's a rebel in the Underground—all qualities that attract Terrence so much there is no stopping the fall. Loving Chase might be dangerous, but Terrence is done living in fear and letting others dictate what is right for him.

"Loving Chase might be dangerous, but Terrence is done living in fear."

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Alice Rachel and her books! Her books are really something special and I will forever hold each and every one of her characters close to my heart.

Rachel finally gives us Terrence's story and it is not a very happy one. Terrence's story broke my heart and he does not deserve a lot of the bad things that happen to him. Terrence is gay, which is a deviant act where he is from. Terrence could be sentenced to death for being gay. He is forced to basically hide who he is in order to save his own life.  He also has huge family problems. Terrence is blamed for the death of his mother, his dad refuses to have a gay son, and his sister, Esther, is just plain mean. Terrence has a really hard life until he meets Chase. Chase is the first person to stick up for Terrence. Chase wants to protect Terrence. But what happens when Chase doesn't understand how important it is to hide that you are gay? Chase and Terrence are from two different worlds. Could this work?

Terrence is a short story that goes along with the rest of Rachel's series. The Under Ground series is something you guys do not want to miss out on! Rachel's writing is so inspiring and she really makes you see things and understand things. Her books are easy to relate to because we see a lot of things she writes about in today's society. I think that is a big reason that I love this series so much! Rachel really makes you feel as if you are in the story with her characters and I truly hurt for Terence when he hurts and I was happy with him when he was happy. I really felt his pain and that is how you know you are reading a GREAT book!

I really enjoy how Rachel gives us short stories focusing on characters from her series! It really allows the readers to get a better understanding of the characters and their background history. I just love everything about this series and I am a huge forever fan of Alice Rachel!

It's Release Day for Coral And Bone!

Coral And Bone (Book 1 in The Siren Chronicles) is now available with Oftomes Publishing!

Check out the beautiful new cover and this awesome Goodreads blurb: Halen knows the sparks igniting under her fingertips are dangerous. She has spent her entire life trying to quell the tingly feelings that make her destroy things, but now that she is back in Rockaway Beach, where she watched her father drown, the flames have become impossible to tame.

Halen is trying to hold on, but when she is thrust into a mysterious new world, the underwater realm of Elosia, she unravels the secrets of her past and can't help but ignite. As she explores Elosia, she realizes her life has been a lie. And when those who have deceived her come to her for help, Halen must choose—walk away or unleash the magick that could destroy them all.

How cool does this book sound you guys? I absolutely adored Daune's books previously so I can only imagine how great they are now! Plus this new cover is to die for! I totally adore Daune's characters and story and I look forward to the series being published through Oftomes Publishing! Daune deserves all the recognition she can get! Her mind is truly something else and she creates the most beautiful characters and worlds. This is a series you guys definitely do not want to miss out on!

---------------------------------------

In honor of release day, here is a little bit about the author! I've also had the opportunity to include a short interview with her!

Tiffany Daune writes stories about magick, love and dark creatures lurking in the shadows. She is the author of Coral and Bone (The Siren Chronicles) and a Watty award winner. When not lost in Editland, you can find her reading a book from her towering TBR pile or kicking back and watching movies with her family. She lives on an island, in the Pacific Northwest, surrounded by mermaids that are much nicer than the ones found in her books.

Can you tell me a little bit about your series and what inspired it?
-The Coral & Bone series is filled with mermaids, shifters and otherworldly creatures. It's a story of love, loss and hope. My writing is most influenced by the beloved stories I read as a child, such as Hans Christian Andersen's The Little Mermaid and C.S. Lewis's The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. I'm drawn to mystical realms and love it even more when magic collides with our world.

The Etlins in the Coral & Bone series are shifters. If you could be a shifter what animal would you want to be and why?
-Definitely a raven because they are wickedly smart and eerie.

What is one of your favorite quotes?
-Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times if one only remembers to turn on the light. ~ Albus Dumbledore

When did you know that you wanted to write professionally and how did you take the leap to get into the business?
-I started writing with the intent of publishing seven years ago. I faced a lot of rejection letters, but I kept submitting and writing, until I received my first contract for Surface and the sequel Landlocked. Unfortunately, my publisher closed, and I had to start over. So, instead of resubmitting Surface, I wrote Coral & Bone which won a watty award in 2016.

What book is currently on your nightstand? And who are some of your favorite authors?
-I have five on my nightstand right now. I'm currently lost in the pages of The Girl with All the Gifts by M.R. Carey. I'm also reading some great works on Wattpad.
-I could never pick just one, but I a few of my faves are Alyson Noel, Tehereh Mafi, Casandra Clare, John Green, Taran Matharu, Jennifer L Armentrout and Kendare Blake.

What is next on your to read list?
-Dorothy Must Die by Danielle Paige.

Can you share a little about the current title you are working on?
-I'm currently editing books two and three of The Siren Chronicles and working on an outline for an exciting new series. Keep an eye on my Instagram account where I'll be posting a sneak peek very soon.

What do you do to recharge your batteries?
-This is a tough one, I'm kind of a workaholic because let's face it I play all day. I kind of know how Victor Frankenstein felt, crazy obsessed and thrilled when the story comes ALIVE. So when I do need to recharge, I unplug. I have to get away from the screen and then spend time with my family. My family boosts me up and I'm good to go back to my lab—I mean laptop.

Can you see your work on the big screen?
-I think most writers would love to see their work on the big screen. I’m a visual person, so when I write I’m already watching the movie play through my head. I’m just recording what I see. Coral and  Bone is full of rich imagery. It would be amazing to see the three realms and watch the drama unfold within each.

Why mermaids?
-You know when someone reads you a story as a child and it sticks with you forever?  Hans Christian Andersen's The Little Mermaid was that story for me.  I love the original and I adore the Disney version. But, it wasn't until I watched Pirates of the Caribbean on Stranger Tides did I find my mermaid muse for Coral and  Bone.

If you could meet one of your characters in real life, who would it be and why?
-Halen. Then I could apologize for all the crap I put her through. I'm not done with her yet, so she may need a big hug.

A biography has been written about you. What do you think the title would be in six words or less?
-Believe

What was your favorite childhood book?
-I loved so many books as a child, it’s hard to pick one. My top three would have to be The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Are you there God It’s Me Margaret. As a teen, I devoured anything by Stephen King, John Saul & Anne Rice.

What’s your favorite writing food?
-Popcorn, cucumbers, and chocolate.

Starting Fires by Makenzie Smith

- Goodreads Synopsis -
I was strong enough.
My resolve was high.
My walls were higher.
He was heartache incarnate.
I knew this, but didn't stay away.
We pushed and pulled, keeping one another at arms length.
But then something changed.
Something started.
And neither of us were prepared for it.

"You came into my life and started a fire that burned so hot and fast, I was ash, crumbling before I even knew what was happening."

I do not even know where to begin! You guys, I LOVE THIS BOOK! Starting Fires by Makenzie Smith is absolutely amazing and totally blew my mind. It is safe to say that this book is one of my favorite reads this year. I enjoyed every little tiny part of this book. Smith has an amazing mind and I need more books by this lady!

Smith introduces us to a young woman named Marlowe. Marlowe lives in Louisiana where she is stuck in a bad relationship. The day this man breaks up with Marlowe is the day her life truly begins! Marlowe moves in with her best friend Charles. Moving to New Orleans will either be a blessing in disguise or one big mistake. Living with Charles is great, but living across the street from Lucas is a whole different story. Marlowe spotted Lucas the first day she arrived at Charles' house. Lucas immediately spotted her as well. There is only one problem here.. Lucas is a player! Lucas really likes his girls and never stays with one for too long. Can Charles convince Marlowe that liking Lucas is a bad idea? Will Marlowe be just another girl under Lucas' belt? Charles is genuinely worried about Marlowe.

"I thirsted for her. Hungered for her. And I burned for her. My fire was strong, and it was never going out."

Starting Fires has everything a great book needs! There is drama, love, friendship, betrayal, and so much more! The characters are all so complex and well thought out. Smith really brings this story to life. I felt that I was in this book with Marlowe helping her along the way. I cried when she cried, I was frustrated when she was, and I was happy when she was happy! This book really tore at my heart strings! I was crying one minute and then I was all happy and excited the next minute. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time and was not able to put this book down. I felt like there was always something important or intense happening, so there was never a good time to take a break. There was no way I was going to walk away from this book and be able to think straight. Smith's pages had consumed my mind.

I loved all the characters in this book! Charles, Wally, Ian, Lucas, Marlowe, Nicole, and Lacey were awesome! Ian was the only one I never felt totally connected with, but that is because he was the most quiet out of all the characters. This group of friends is definitely a group you guys do not want to miss out on!

One thing I noticed and enjoyed the most was that Smith's writing is real. The love in her book was not easy, it was real. The fights in her book were not exaggerated, they were real. The girls in her book were not all skinny and perfect, they were real! While reading this story, I did not feel like I was reading some perfect fairytale romance. Don't get me wrong, I do love perfect romance stories.... but we do live in the real world, and how often do those perfect romance stories really happen? Never. Smith's story is real and could easily happen daily.

This will always be a book I hold close to me. I really connected with this book for some reason. Makenzie Smith is an awesome writer and I can not wait to start the second book in this series!

Hooked by Christine Manzari

- Goodreads Synopsis -
If you ask the confident and snarky skater girl, and she’s in the mood to share, she’ll tell you her name is Cat. She might even tell you that she’s hooked on graffiti, 80s movies, and having fun—the riskier the better. Cat will share a good time with you, but she won’t ever trust you enough to share her heart. It’s protected by secrets and she’d like to keep it that way.

Cat knows one thing for certain: Love isn’t really her thing.

If you ask the confident and rich pretty boy, he might tell you his name is Huck. He might even tell you he loves a challenge and is used to getting his way. He won’t tell you that his life is a mess because he risked his heart by trusting the wrong girl. Huck is ready for a change, he just wasn’t ready to get hooked on someone like Cat.

Huck knows one thing for certain: Love hasn’t done him any favors, but Cat just might be worth the risk.

Cat and Huck think a one-night stand seems harmless, but when all the little secrets they didn’t share turn out to be toxic truths, they realize how easily a one-night stand (or a few) could ruin everything.

The thing is, you can be ruined in more than one way. Once you’re HOOKED, what wouldn’t you risk for the chance at more?

"Love is a funny thing. Once you decide someone is worthy of it, you have to trust that person not to break you. And some people- most people actually- aren't worthy of that trust. I've learned the hard way that it's just easier not to risk love. Broken hearts are too big of a pain in the ass."

Christine Manzari definitely had me hooked on Hooked! I have read one other book by Manzari, and I immediately fell in love with her writing. Manzari's books just get better and better and I am so glad that I have had the opportunity to read them.

Manzari introduces us to Cat, a very independent young woman. For most of Cat's life she has only had her mom and her best friend, Jay. That all changes the moment Jay and Cat notice a strange boy staring at Cat on the beach. Cat had no idea that this boy, Huck, would forever change her life. Cat and Huck hit it off right away! Which is normally a good thing, right? But everything starts to go wrong when Cat has a family emergency and has to go away for a while. Will Huck be able to wait for Cat? Will Cat let Huck be there for her? Will Cat actually be able to open up to someone other than her mom and her best friend?

Manzari writes the most amazing books ever! Her characters are so life like and they all have such history. Whenever I read a book by Manzari I feel as if I am in it, and her characters are all my best friends! I always feel exactly what her characters are feeling and I really enjoy that in a book. You know an author is a good writer when he or she has the power to transport their readers wherever they want to take them. That is exactly what Manzari does!

I fell in love with Cat immediately. She is a very strong woman and knows exactly what she wants. She does not need a man in her life to complete her and she does just fine on her own. Cat is very work driven but still finds a lot of time to go out and have fun! I also really love Huck and Jay! Jay is the greatest best friend anyone could ask for and he really knows how to take care of Cat. Huck is awesome too! He really cares about Cat and although their relationship is a bit odd, she is really something special to this guy. I feel like the three of them are my friends after reading Hooked. Manzari gave her characters complex backgrounds and just did a fantastic job bringing them to life through her pages.

I really look forward to reading more from Manzari. If you guys have never read one of her books, then you really need to! Christine Manzari is an author you do not want to miss out on!

The Falling by T. Damon

- Goodreads Synopsis -
A drastic change within an enchanted Forest occurs in The Falling, the mystical first volume of The Forest Spirit series. An upheaval of normalcy affects the various kingdoms of mythical beings and animals caused by a Higher Spirit's fall from grace. Now it's up to a group of the smallest and most oblivious of creatures, the nymphs, to save their Forest and reinstate the Forest's spiritual balance of good and evil. Narena, her brother Nyxen, and debonair warrior Kellen join forces with a sassy faery, wise salamander, and human witches to discover that even the tiniest of beings can create an enormous impact on the world around them.

I have read my fair share of fantasy books but I have never read one like The Falling by T. Damon!

T. Damon takes us into a world where trolls, witches, nymphs, faerie, kalpies, ogres, entities, and ghosts are real! Damon has a way with words and really knows how to take her readers into another world!

Damon's forest is such a beautiful place but bad things start to happen once the spirits, who are in charge of watching over the forest, stop getting along. The yew, the highest spirit of them all, gets banished, and with that, the falling of the forest begins.

In The Falling we meet Narena, her brother Nyxen, and a few of their friends. The group discovers a great evil in their forest and are determined to figure out what this darkness is and why it is taking over their forest. Narena and her friends, with the help of the forest, a certain parent, and a few witches along the way, head out to save the forest.  What would you do if your home was falling and turning to evil? would you be brave enough to save it? Narena and her friends take part in a difficult journey, one they might not be ready for. Will they make it? Will they figure out what is causing this great evil? The greatest question is.. once they find who is behind all this evil, will they be able to stop him or her? You guys will have to pick this book up to find out for yourselves! This is a story you guys do not want to miss out on!

T. Damon's writing style is perfect! I was hooked since the first page and never did I get bored or want to put this book down. It was definitely a short, awesome read and Damon did not disappoint. It was as if she bought me my own personal airplane ticket to her forest, where I joined up with Narena and Nyxen to help them fight the evil. That is how realistic her writing is. There were times that I completely forgot that I was even reading a book!

I can not wait to read book 2! I need more of T. Damon's beautiful writing!

Sinking by Sarah Armstrong- Garner

- Goodreads Synopsis -
Jocelyn washes up on the shore of eighteenth century Ireland, alone, naked, and missing all of her memories. Taken in by a lonely old woman full of plots and schemes for the lovely yet enigmatic creature, Jocelyn knows only one thing. She longs for the sea with every ounce of her being. Yet it tried to kill her.

Aidan Boyd loves two things. His ship and the sea. When Jocelyn is thrust upon his vessel in the midst of his superstitious crew, he finds himself intoxicated by her--willing to give up everything for her. He soon finds he cannot live without her.

But something holds Jocelyn back. The whisper of another's love. The embrace of water. Does she belong to this world? Or could Jocelyn possibly be from the sea?

Sinking by Sarah Armstrong- Garner is such a unique mermaid story! I have never read a story like this one, and I have read a lot of mermaid stories! Trust me.

Garner introduces us to a lost girl named Jocelyn. But Jocelyn is not this young girls real name. Jocelyn is from the ocean but for some reason can not remember who or where she is from. She washes up on shore one day, where a woman, Edith, finds her and names her Jocelyn. Jocelyn slowly starts to see the clues as to what she is. The ocean is speaking to her, she can heal people, there is this old man on the ship that swears he knows what Jocelyn is. Jocelyn begins having flashbacks of the day she washed up on shore! What do you do if you have no idea who you are but you know you are being hunted, someone is trying to find you, you have powers, and people are telling you that you belong in the sea?

Sinking is an awesome read that will take you on the adventure of a lifetime! It is fun seeing Jocelyn begin to realize who she is and what happened to her in the ocean. Sarah also introduces us to a few people from Jocelyn's past, who could be good or bad! It drove me insane trying to figure out if Benlar was good or bad. There is evil in the ocean that wants Jocelyn back, so who knows if Benlar is trying to protect her or take her back to the evil!

Sinking is super complex and full of detail! I love the medallions, the eyes, and all the other little details Sarah uses to describe her mermaids! As I said before, I really adore mermaid books, so when I read some that are different, I really appreciate them and that makes me enjoy the book even more! I love how creative Sarah got with Sinking and I think you guys all will too! Jocelyn is my favorite character! She is awesome and so full of personality. She is not afraid to get down and dirty and is nothing like "normal" girls from this era. Sarah did an awesome job while creating her. Jocelyn could have easily been a boring character, having no recollection of her memory, but luckily.. Sarah is awesome and creates amazing characters!

The author takes you into a world so magical, it feels real! I literally could not put her book down. I am longing for more and can not wait to see what happens with Jocelyn's story!

For the first time, Sophie is feeling torn between her separate lives, but when an old enemy gets dangerously close to finding her, no identity or location might be safe any longer...

"She calls herself fireproof. I figured that if she's willing to walk through the fire for me- the least I can do is try my best to become bulletproof for her."

I feel like I can only tell you guys how awesome Lost is, before you get tired of me! But hey.. I have said it before and I will say it again... LORETTA LOST IS AWESOME! I have no idea where her ideas come from and it blows my mind that she has such a creative imagination. What a time to be a book lover! Her books just keep getting better and better!

In The Bulletproof Boy, Lost takes us back into her world with Cole and Sophie! But, in this book we get to see a little more into why Cole did what he did and his reasoning behind it. We also learn a lot more about the two as teenagers, when they were in the same foster home. Together, Sophie and Cole, decide to find out who was trying to kill Cole! You would think that it would be easy for an amazing hacker girl like Sophie, but crazy things start happening and it becomes a little more difficult than they thought it would! I am really speechless and have no idea what else to say about this book without giving away any spoilers! I just want to sit here and talk about every little detail of this book! I am really trying to control myself though.

I was so shocked at the end of this book! Lost threw the biggest curve at me! I can't imagine any author throwing a bigger curve ball! Then.. shortly after, Sophie's worst nightmare returns and then BAM.. it is the end of the book! AHHHHH how I hate cliff hangers! Well, it is more of a love hate relationship, but in this case I am dying! I need to find out what happens and I need a third book ASAP! Loretta Lost just needs to write books forever!

Lost has an extremely vivid imagination and her books take full control over me. While reading a book by Lost, I am completely lost in the story and have no sense of the world around me. Her words know how to grab you and just sweep you away into the amazing world happening in between her pages. Lost's characters are so complex and well thought out. I really fell in love with Sophie and Cole. Sophie is a bad ass young woman who could always take care of herself, but she just so happens to want Cole. The two of them together make the ultimate power couple! Put these two into the Hunger Games and they just may give Katniss And Peeta a run for their money!

I am a forever fan of Loretta Lost and you guys should all read this series! Add it to your TBR right now! You will not regret it, I promise!

The Fireproof Girl by Loretta Lost

- Goodreads Synopsis -
Abandoned at birth, Sophie Shields grew up in abusive foster homes, escaping into books and computers for solace. When the constant danger became too much to bear, she ran away, thinking she could survive on her hacking skills alone.

That was until she met Cole Hunter. He became the only person she could trust: her family, her friend, her partner-in-crime. Her everything. After struggling through college and starting their lives together, she believed that nothing could ever tear them apart.

Until it did.

And she’ll do everything in her power to fix what is broken. If it isn’t too late…

Loretta Lost never lets me down! I have read multiple books by her and each one just gets better and better! I am absolutely in love with this book and the characters inside.

"I will always remember how the earth moved when you touched my hand."

Lost introduces us to a young girl named Sophie. Sophie has had a rough life but is finally turning it around. She has a wonderful job, an amazing man, and a home to call her own. Sophie has only one complaint.. her brother has been killed. What will Sophie do when she finds out that her boyfriend was hiding things from her? Things about her brother! Will Sophie be able to bring back old memories in order to figure out what happened? Can Sophie handle the past? More importantly... what will Sophie find once she begins to dig into her past and into her brothers life? Can Sophie handle what she finds?

Lost's books are so intense! She always writes about matters that are so emotional and heavy! That is what I absolutely love about her though! I know I can count on her books to be absolutely amazing. The moment I pick one up, I know it will be totally awesome and that I am in for a treat. Lost paints her stories into the readers minds so vividly it is as if her readers belong in the story too. I felt like I was running around with Sophie trying to solve the murder of her brother. The emotions were super real in this book! Sophie and her brother had some heart to heart conversations that tore my own heart out. I cried with the characters and smiled with the characters. Her characters are always so descriptive and full of life. I absolutely loved the main character, Sophie! She is such a badass! I am almost positive you guys will agree with me!

This book had my immediate attention until the very end. Lost really knows how to hook a reader and keep them wanting more. Something about her words just hypnotized me and would not let me go until the last word was read. She writes in such a unique way! I loved how her book was set up and how well it was written. Lost gives us multiple points of view and also a number of extremely helpful flashbacks! The suspense and mystery just poured out of this book! I had no idea what was going to happen next. There were secrets, lies, deaths, smiles, and so much more! Bad things happened in this book.. but don't let that take away from the good things that happen as well!

Loretta Lost is awesome! I am a huge fan of hers and will always be! If you haven't already, I suggest you pick up this book or check out some of her other series. I promise you that her books will not let you down. Once you pick one up, you'll be a forever fan too!

The Angels of Resistance by David V. Mammina

- Goodreads Synopsis -
One thousand years after the assumed apocalypse, a demonic army known as the Demon Plague has invaded the new world. With various races and cultures split by their differences, one man inspires them to unite in order to defeat the unfathomable evil force. Experience the epic story that follows these heroes into the darkness. Join the resistance and find out what it takes to defeat demons.

"Demons live to deceive."

I think it was like six months until I finally read this book! I have no idea why I waited so long! Once I picked this book up, I was HOOKED! I really have no idea where to begin with this review. This book was awesome and I am speechless! It was full of so many amazing characters, demons, wars, deaths, betrayals, love, friendship, and angels of course.

Mammina takes us on a journey to Pommel where we meet Michael. Michael has a secret.. He was created for something important. Michael was created to be a demon. But Micheal is not and will not ever be a demon! Well... that is if he can help it. Michael sets out to warn other kingdoms of the plague and while doing so, he plans to destroy the demons and the Demon Lord. So what happens when the demon plague follows him wherever he goes? What happens when the demons take his son? The Angels of Resistance happen! Michael meets many amazing people on his journey and he turns his tragedy into a reason to fight and live.

"I was your minion, but now I've become your destroyer."

David V. Mammina created a beautiful world. His words and characters were so creative and vivid that his book just flowed throughout my mind. He really has a way with words. I was picturing these demons exactly how he was describing them and let me be the first to tell you... they are scary! I am happy to announce that I did not see them in my dreams last night! hah

The Angels of Resistance is a very complex book with millions of characters and lots of things going on at once. I had to take notes on all the characters at first, just so I could figure everyone out. I really enjoyed Mammina's characters! Some were mean, some were nice, but they were all fun! I was really drawn to Predella for some reason! She was totally badass and I enjoyed reading about her battle scenes! Oh, since we are on the topic... lets talk about these war/battle scenes! THEY WERE EPIC! Mammina describes these scenes so perfectly! I felt as if I was right there in the middle of the war about to get killed by a demon. I love being able to place myself into a book! That is when you know you are reading a wonderful book and I am almost positive that other readers would agree.

I really look forward to reading more from David. V. Mammina and you guys all should to! This book is not your average angel vs. demon book. I know there are a lot of post apocalypse books out there but this one is unique. This book is truly like nothing I have ever read.

Radio by Sophia Elaine Hanson

- Goodreads Synopsis -
Cinder meets This Savage Song in the harrowing second installment of the Vinyl Trilogy by Sophia Elaine Hanson.

After the traumatic events at the dreaded prison Red Bay, Ronja is hanging by a thread. Whispers trail her through the Belly, carrying rumors of her borderline supernatural voice. Plagued by nightmares and haunted by the memories of those she could not save, she clings to the promise that her gift will soon become the weapon of the Anthem.

When doubt and arrogance cloud the eyes of their once trusted commander, Ronja and her friends are forced to take matters into their own hands. Armed with little more than an idea, they strike out on their own to silence The Music and The Conductor once and for all. But time is running out, and a new threat is stirring within the walls of the city...

The highly anticipated sequel to the #1 Amazon Bestseller VinylRadio delves deep into the twisted world of Revinia, weaving a tale of sacrifice, song, romance, and revolution.

I have no idea where to even begin with this review! I read Vinyl last year and was blown away! I could not figure out how someone came up with the idea of using music as a weapon. It is such a unique idea! I could not wait for Radio to be released and now the day is almost here! 3 MORE DAYS! April 5th is the day you all will be reunited with your anthemites!

"The idea of music being able to travel without the aid of singers was insane enough, but a voice that could counteract it... she was not entirely convinced it was possible herself."

Sophia throws us right back into her musical world and I could not be happier. We get to see all our old favorite friends as well as some new ones! Ronja and the anthemites found a way to fight back. They think they have found a way to finally destroy the conductor.. but will it work? Ronja and her friends are faced with a difficult decision. What would you do if you could make a difference but the people around you were too afraid to try? Would you stand up for what you believe in? or would you accept defeat?

Sophia paints such an amazingly, vivid world for her readers. The words she uses and the way she places them on the page allows us to feel as if we are anthemites ourselves, running around with the characters in the book. These characters are so well thought out! Each has some complex story and background of their own. I love this in a book because it makes the characters real, allowing the reader to have something or someone to relate to. Each character has a super awesome, unique name, which I really enjoy! Once again, I have no idea how she thought of such cool names. Sophia's mind is truly something not from this world. Okay, back to the characters! I love Roark and I will always love Roark! Can you guys say book boyfriend material? Because I sure can! I was excited to meet Mouse in this book. Sophia has been talking about him for some time now, so I was pretty excited when he was introduced. I wish I could sit here and just type about each and every character, but what would be the fun in that? I try super hard not to give away spoilers, so you guys will have to check out the book for yourselves. There are so many surprises throughout this book! I can almost guarantee that once you start reading, you will not be able to stop. That is exactly what happened to me. I picked up Radio and I was glued to it until I was finished.

"My voice is a weapon; Ill use it when I have to." Roark smiled ruefully. "Your voice is an instrument of freedom. It can free you too, if you let it."

The vinyl Trilogy really is a series that does not get enough credit. For some weird reason, this series always kind of reminds me of the Divergent Series. I always find myself thinking... well if the Divergent Series can be that big then why cant the Vinyl Series be that big? I probably compare the two because they are both dystopian reads? But, my point is.... Vinyl is amazing and just as wonderful, if not more, than a lot of big named books out there. Sophia is an Indie author, but her time will come! This girl is going places, I can tell! With a mind like hers it is kind of impossible not to do great things!

Sophia Elaine Hanson is a book writing genius and I can not wait to see what else she comes up with!
