Sinking by Sarah Armstrong- Garner

- Goodreads Synopsis -
Jocelyn washes up on the shore of eighteenth century Ireland, alone, naked, and missing all of her memories. Taken in by a lonely old woman full of plots and schemes for the lovely yet enigmatic creature, Jocelyn knows only one thing. She longs for the sea with every ounce of her being. Yet it tried to kill her.

Aidan Boyd loves two things. His ship and the sea. When Jocelyn is thrust upon his vessel in the midst of his superstitious crew, he finds himself intoxicated by her--willing to give up everything for her. He soon finds he cannot live without her.

But something holds Jocelyn back. The whisper of another's love. The embrace of water. Does she belong to this world? Or could Jocelyn possibly be from the sea?

Sinking by Sarah Armstrong- Garner is such a unique mermaid story! I have never read a story like this one, and I have read a lot of mermaid stories! Trust me.

Garner introduces us to a lost girl named Jocelyn. But Jocelyn is not this young girls real name. Jocelyn is from the ocean but for some reason can not remember who or where she is from. She washes up on shore one day, where a woman, Edith, finds her and names her Jocelyn. Jocelyn slowly starts to see the clues as to what she is. The ocean is speaking to her, she can heal people, there is this old man on the ship that swears he knows what Jocelyn is. Jocelyn begins having flashbacks of the day she washed up on shore! What do you do if you have no idea who you are but you know you are being hunted, someone is trying to find you, you have powers, and people are telling you that you belong in the sea?

Sinking is an awesome read that will take you on the adventure of a lifetime! It is fun seeing Jocelyn begin to realize who she is and what happened to her in the ocean. Sarah also introduces us to a few people from Jocelyn's past, who could be good or bad! It drove me insane trying to figure out if Benlar was good or bad. There is evil in the ocean that wants Jocelyn back, so who knows if Benlar is trying to protect her or take her back to the evil!

Sinking is super complex and full of detail! I love the medallions, the eyes, and all the other little details Sarah uses to describe her mermaids! As I said before, I really adore mermaid books, so when I read some that are different, I really appreciate them and that makes me enjoy the book even more! I love how creative Sarah got with Sinking and I think you guys all will too! Jocelyn is my favorite character! She is awesome and so full of personality. She is not afraid to get down and dirty and is nothing like "normal" girls from this era. Sarah did an awesome job while creating her. Jocelyn could have easily been a boring character, having no recollection of her memory, but luckily.. Sarah is awesome and creates amazing characters!

The author takes you into a world so magical, it feels real! I literally could not put her book down. I am longing for more and can not wait to see what happens with Jocelyn's story!

But an innocent woman has been killed by the same monster who shot her brother, and she feels compelled to help bring her justice. For the first time, Sophie is feeling torn between her separate lives, but when an old enemy gets dangerously close to finding her, no identity or location might be safe any longer...

"She calls herself fireproof. I figured that if she's willing to walk through the fire for me- the least I can do is try my best to become bulletproof for her."

I feel like I can only tell you guys how awesome Lost is, before you get tired of me! But hey.. I have said it before and I will say it again... LORETTA LOST IS AWESOME! I have no idea where her ideas come from and it blows my mind that she has such a creative imagination. What a time to be a book lover! Her books just keep getting better and better!

In The Bulletproof Boy, Lost takes us back into her world with Cole and Sophie! But, in this book we get to see a little more into why Cole did what he did and his reasoning behind it. We also learn a lot more about the two as teenagers, when they were in the same foster home. Together, Sophie and Cole, decide to find out who was trying to kill Cole! You would think that it would be easy for an amazing hacker girl like Sophie, but crazy things start happening and it becomes a little more difficult than they thought it would! I am really speechless and have no idea what else to say about this book without giving away any spoilers! I just want to sit here and talk about every little detail of this book! I am really trying to control myself though.

I was so shocked at the end of this book! Lost threw the biggest curve at me! I can't imagine any author throwing a bigger curve ball! Then.. shortly after, Sophie's worst nightmare returns and then BAM.. it is the end of the book! AHHHHH how I hate cliff hangers! Well, it is more of a love hate relationship, but in this case I am dying! I need to find out what happens and I need a third book ASAP! Loretta Lost just needs to write books forever!

Lost has an extremely vivid imagination and her books take full control over me. While reading a book by Lost, I am completely lost in the story and have no sense of the world around me. Her words know how to grab you and just sweep you away into the amazing world happening in between her pages. Lost's characters are so complex and well thought out. I really fell in love with Sophie and Cole. Sophie is a bad ass young woman who could always take care of herself, but she just so happens to want Cole. The two of them together make the ultimate power couple! Put these two into the Hunger Games and they just may give Katniss And Peeta a run for their money!

I am a forever fan of Loretta Lost and you guys should all read this series! Add it to your TBR right now! You will not regret it, I promise!

The Fireproof Girl by Loretta Lost

- Goodreads Synopsis -
Abandoned at birth, Sophie Shields grew up in abusive foster homes, escaping into books and computers for solace. When the constant danger became too much to bear, she ran away, thinking she could survive on her hacking skills alone.

That was until she met Cole Hunter. He became the only person she could trust: her family, her friend, her partner-in-crime. Her everything. After struggling through college and starting their lives together, she believed that nothing could ever tear them apart.

Until it did.

And she’ll do everything in her power to fix what is broken. If it isn’t too late…

Loretta Lost never lets me down! I have read multiple books by her and each one just gets better and better! I am absolutely in love with this book and the characters inside.

"I will always remember how the earth moved when you touched my hand."

Lost introduces us to a young girl named Sophie. Sophie has had a rough life but is finally turning it around. She has a wonderful job, an amazing man, and a home to call her own. Sophie has only one complaint.. her brother has been killed. What will Sophie do when she finds out that her boyfriend was hiding things from her? Things about her brother! Will Sophie be able to bring back old memories in order to figure out what happened? Can Sophie handle the past? More importantly... what will Sophie find once she begins to dig into her past and into her brothers life? Can Sophie handle what she finds?

Lost's books are so intense! She always writes about matters that are so emotional and heavy! That is what I absolutely love about her though! I know I can count on her books to be absolutely amazing. The moment I pick one up, I know it will be totally awesome and that I am in for a treat. Lost paints her stories into the readers minds so vividly it is as if her readers belong in the story too. I felt like I was running around with Sophie trying to solve the murder of her brother. The emotions were super real in this book! Sophie and her brother had some heart to heart conversations that tore my own heart out. I cried with the characters and smiled with the characters. Her characters are always so descriptive and full of life. I absolutely loved the main character, Sophie! She is such a badass! I am almost positive you guys will agree with me!

This book had my immediate attention until the very end. Lost really knows how to hook a reader and keep them wanting more. Something about her words just hypnotized me and would not let me go until the last word was read. She writes in such a unique way! I loved how her book was set up and how well it was written. Lost gives us multiple points of view and also a number of extremely helpful flashbacks! The suspense and mystery just poured out of this book! I had no idea what was going to happen next. There were secrets, lies, deaths, smiles, and so much more! Bad things happened in this book.. but don't let that take away from the good things that happen as well!

Loretta Lost is awesome! I am a huge fan of hers and will always be! If you haven't already, I suggest you pick up this book or check out some of her other series. I promise you that her books will not let you down. Once you pick one up, you'll be a forever fan too!

The Angels of Resistance by David V. Mammina

- Goodreads Synopsis -
One thousand years after the assumed apocalypse, a demonic army known as the Demon Plague has invaded the new world. With various races and cultures split by their differences, one man inspires them to unite in order to defeat the unfathomable evil force. Experience the epic story that follows these heroes into the darkness. Join the resistance and find out what it takes to defeat demons.

"Demons live to deceive."

I think it was like six months until I finally read this book! I have no idea why I waited so long! Once I picked this book up, I was HOOKED! I really have no idea where to begin with this review. This book was awesome and I am speechless! It was full of so many amazing characters, demons, wars, deaths, betrayals, love, friendship, and angels of course.

Mammina takes us on a journey to Pommel where we meet Michael. Michael has a secret.. He was created for something important. Michael was created to be a demon. But Micheal is not and will not ever be a demon! Well... that is if he can help it. Michael sets out to warn other kingdoms of the plague and while doing so, he plans to destroy the demons and the Demon Lord. So what happens when the demon plague follows him wherever he goes? What happens when the demons take his son? The Angels of Resistance happen! Michael meets many amazing people on his journey and he turns his tragedy into a reason to fight and live.

"I was your minion, but now I've become your destroyer."

David V. Mammina created a beautiful world. His words and characters were so creative and vivid that his book just flowed throughout my mind. He really has a way with words. I was picturing these demons exactly how he was describing them and let me be the first to tell you... they are scary! I am happy to announce that I did not see them in my dreams last night! hah

The Angels of Resistance is a very complex book with millions of characters and lots of things going on at once. I had to take notes on all the characters at first, just so I could figure everyone out. I really enjoyed Mammina's characters! Some were mean, some were nice, but they were all fun! I was really drawn to Predella for some reason! She was totally badass and I enjoyed reading about her battle scenes! Oh, since we are on the topic... lets talk about these war/battle scenes! THEY WERE EPIC! Mammina describes these scenes so perfectly! I felt as if I was right there in the middle of the war about to get killed by a demon. I love being able to place myself into a book! That is when you know you are reading a wonderful book and I am almost positive that other readers would agree.

I really look forward to reading more from David. V. Mammina and you guys all should to! This book is not your average angel vs. demon book. I know there are a lot of post apocalypse books out there but this one is unique. This book is truly like nothing I have ever read.

Radio by Sophia Elaine Hanson

- Goodreads Synopsis -
Cinder meets This Savage Song in the harrowing second installment of the Vinyl Trilogy by Sophia Elaine Hanson.

After the traumatic events at the dreaded prison Red Bay, Ronja is hanging by a thread. Whispers trail her through the Belly, carrying rumors of her borderline supernatural voice. Plagued by nightmares and haunted by the memories of those she could not save, she clings to the promise that her gift will soon become the weapon of the Anthem.

When doubt and arrogance cloud the eyes of their once trusted commander, Ronja and her friends are forced to take matters into their own hands. Armed with little more than an idea, they strike out on their own to silence The Music and The Conductor once and for all. But time is running out, and a new threat is stirring within the walls of the city...

The highly anticipated sequel to the #1 Amazon Bestseller VinylRadio delves deep into the twisted world of Revinia, weaving a tale of sacrifice, song, romance, and revolution.

I have no idea where to even begin with this review! I read Vinyl last year and was blown away! I could not figure out how someone came up with the idea of using music as a weapon. It is such a unique idea! I could not wait for Radio to be released and now the day is almost here! 3 MORE DAYS! April 5th is the day you all will be reunited with your anthemites!

"The idea of music being able to travel without the aid of singers was insane enough, but a voice that could counteract it... she was not entirely convinced it was possible herself."

Sophia throws us right back into her musical world and I could not be happier. We get to see all our old favorite friends as well as some new ones! Ronja and the anthemites found a way to fight back. They think they have found a way to finally destroy the conductor.. but will it work? Ronja and her friends are faced with a difficult decision. What would you do if you could make a difference but the people around you were too afraid to try? Would you stand up for what you believe in? or would you accept defeat?

Sophia paints such an amazingly, vivid world for her readers. The words she uses and the way she places them on the page allows us to feel as if we are anthemites ourselves, running around with the characters in the book. These characters are so well thought out! Each has some complex story and background of their own. I love this in a book because it makes the characters real, allowing the reader to have something or someone to relate to. Each character has a super awesome, unique name, which I really enjoy! Once again, I have no idea how she thought of such cool names. Sophia's mind is truly something not from this world. Okay, back to the characters! I love Roark and I will always love Roark! Can you guys say book boyfriend material? Because I sure can! I was excited to meet Mouse in this book. Sophia has been talking about him for some time now, so I was pretty excited when he was introduced. I wish I could sit here and just type about each and every character, but what would be the fun in that? I try super hard not to give away spoilers, so you guys will have to check out the book for yourselves. There are so many surprises throughout this book! I can almost guarantee that once you start reading, you will not be able to stop. That is exactly what happened to me. I picked up Radio and I was glued to it until I was finished.

"My voice is a weapon; Ill use it when I have to." Roark smiled ruefully. "Your voice is an instrument of freedom. It can free you too, if you let it."

The vinyl Trilogy really is a series that does not get enough credit. For some weird reason, this series always kind of reminds me of the Divergent Series. I always find myself thinking... well if the Divergent Series can be that big then why cant the Vinyl Series be that big? I probably compare the two because they are both dystopian reads? But, my point is.... Vinyl is amazing and just as wonderful, if not more, than a lot of big named books out there. Sophia is an Indie author, but her time will come! This girl is going places, I can tell! With a mind like hers it is kind of impossible not to do great things!

Sophia Elaine Hanson is a book writing genius and I can not wait to see what else she comes up with!
